The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is returning more than $10 million to consumers who paid for a deceptive real estate investment training program run by Response Marketing.

Refunds are available for consumers who paid Response Marketing for real estate investment training programs and did not receive a refund.

According to the FTC, Response Marketing used false celebrity endorsements and empty promises to trick consumers into paying for real estate investment training programs. Response Marketing’s deceptive promises allegedly told consumers they could earn significant profits “flipping” houses.

Response Marketing is a marketing firm that offers data and analysis services.

The FTC secured a $16.7 million judgment in the lawsuit and is sending more than $10 million in refunds to affected consumers.

Refund amounts will vary depending on several factors, including how many people submit a claim. No refund estimates are available at this time.

There is no exclusion and objection deadline for this settlement.

The settlement was finalized in a stipulated order May 22, 2023.

To receive a Response Marketing FTC refund, consumers must submit a valid claim form by June 19, 2024. Individuals who receive a check should cash it within 90 days, and those who receive a PayPal payment should check it within 30 days.
