Greenridge Farm overtime $3M settlement

The Illinois attorney general reached a $3 million settlement with Greenridge Farm to resolve claims that it failed to pay its workers overtime wages.

The settlement benefits individuals who worked for Greenridge Farm at its facility at 2355 Greenleaf Ave. in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, between May 24, 2019, and May 24, 2022.

The Illinois attorney general filed a lawsuit against Greenridge Farm, claiming it failed to pay its workers the overtime wages they had earned. This lawsuit followed a joint investigation by the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. 

Greenridge Farm is a meat and cheese processor based in Illinois.

The Illinois attorney general secured a $3 million settlement with Greenridge Farm to resolve the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, eligible workers can receive four payments between July 17, 2024, and Nov. 19, 2025. Payments will vary depending on the amount each claimant is owed in wages and other compensation. Workers should have received a payment estimate with their mailed settlement notice.

There is no exclusion or objection deadline for this settlement.

The settlement was finalized Dec. 20, 2023.

The deadline to submit a claim for the settlement is June 17, 2024. The late claim filing deadline is Oct. 20, 2025, though claimants who file a late claim may not receive all four settlement payments.
