Conopco Inc. d/b/a Unilever has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it falsely labeled some of its TRESemmé hair products as natural. If you purchased TRESemmé Naturals products, you may be entitled to compensation from this class action settlement.
If approved, this TRESemmé class action settlement will resolve allegations Unilever falsely labeled some of its hair care products “TRESemmé Naturals” even though they contain synthetic ingredients.
The plaintiffs claim they purchased the items after reading the “natural” label on the product. They say they paid a premium for the TRESemmé Naturals products over products that do not include a “natural” label.
Despite the numerous representation of the products as “natural,” TRESemmé Naturals actually contain several synthetic ingredients such as ammonium laureth sulfate, dipropylene glycol, and disodium EDTA, according to the TRESemmé Naturals class action lawsuit.
The products at issue in the TRESemmé Naturals class action settlement include:
• Nourishing Moisture Shampoo
• Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
• Radiant Volume Shampoo
• Radiant Volume Conditioner
• Vibrantly Smooth Shampoo
• Vibrantly Smooth Conditioner
Unilever denies the allegations but has agreed to pay $3.25 million to settle the TRESemmé Naturals class action settlement and avoid burdensome and costly litigation.
In addition to offering a cash payment to eligible Class Members, Unilever has also agreed to discontinue the sale of the products at issue in the TRESemmé Naturals class action lawsuit.
The TRESemmé class action settlement was preliminarily approved on July 12, 2016.
If you would like to opt out of or object to the TRESemmé class action settlement, you must do so no later than Sept. 29, 2016.

I used these products and they made my hair so dry it felt like straw . Threw it all away .
I have purchased this for years for my daughter and granddaughter, never has been effective as the label read..
when one enters all info requested on the TreSemme shampoo/ conditioner form it will not take the number of purchases of this junk that you bought; put in (8) several times and it just continues to say “please enter -0- or a number. Did this over and over to no avail. If someone know what the problem is, please advise me!!
We’re sorry you are having difficulties submitting an online claim. You can always try contacting the settlement administrator with any questions about the online claim process. The settlement website also offers the option to download a claim form that you can print, fill out, and mail.
Put “0” after the kinds you didn’t buy any of. Only. Put a different amount if showing number bought, otherwise put the. Number “0” for zero.
I thought this was suppose to be a great volumizing shampoo. I used for a long time and felt my hair was thinning. Not good.
I think i signed up twice …oops what will happen now ???
You should contact the settlement administrator with any questions about the claim you submitted or the claim process. Good luck, and we hope you get your questions answered!
Nothing happens if you sign up twice by accident. They typically just omit the second one.
its in the amended settlement, that all new York class and mass. class and Florida class and California, just don’t want to waste time
California to
it looks like this is only for FLORIDA , NEW YORK AND MASS.
The settlement is not state specific. The settlement website answers the question in the FAQs, and the official class notice is also posted on the website.
There have been other products too with the same issue.
I’ve been using the nourishing conditioner in my hair AND my daughter’s hair… I still have a bottle of it left… I had wondered what happens with the product line, and I too like so many others, selected it because it was supposed to have natural products… very disappointed. I hope that the Botanicals lines is better and actually has healthier ingredients in it.
