A federal judge has preliminarily approved a class action lawsuit settlement with Toys ‘R’ Us over allegations it violated federal law by printing too many credit/debit card numbers on store receipts. If you made a purchase with a credit or debit card at a Toys ‘R’ Us store between December 4, 2006 and January 5, 2007, you may be eligible to claim up to $30 in free vouchers from the class action settlement.
The Toys ‘R’ Us settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit alleging the company violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA) by printing more than the last five digits of customers’ credit and debit card numbers on store receipts.
Toys ‘R’ Us denies any wrongdoing, but has agreed to compensate Class Members through a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.
Class Members of the Toys ‘R’ Us FACTA settlement include anyone who made a purchase at any Toys ‘R’ Us store during the period from December 4, 2006 through January 5, 2007, inclusive, using a credit or debit card.
Class Members can claim one or more vouchers, depending on the number of purchases they made:
TIER A
Two (2) $15 vouchers if you provide documentation (copies of receipts and/or redacted credit/debit card statements) of three (3) or more credit/debit purchases at a Toys ‘R’ Us store during the class period.
