Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract Class Action Settlement

A $1.3 million class action settlement will resolve allegations that the maker of Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract falsely advertises its products as being able to aid in weight loss, but in reality, the results never appeared for consumers.

Class Members include those nationwide who purchased Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract or products containing Svetol between Feb. 2, 2012 and May 17, 2019.

Products include, but are not limited to the Labrada Fat Loss Optimizer with Svetol® Green Coffee Bean Extract.

According to the class action lawsuit, Naturex called its products “Fat Buster,” “Fat Loss Optimizer,” and “Metabolic Enhancer.” Additionally, the company claimed products containing Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract would “bust your body fat for good.”

Further, claimed the class action lawsuit, Naturex told consumers that Svetol’s supposed weight loss benefits were backed by scientific studies, but these assertions were allegedly false.

Naturex denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay $1.3 million to end the Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the class action settlement, Class Members can claim up to $30 per Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract product purchased. Claims may be made online or by mail.

Class Members without proof of purchase are limited to two claims.

Those who wish to object to or opt out of the Svetol Green Coffee Bean Extract class action settlement must do so by Aug. 30, 2019.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members include those who “purchased, in the United States, Svetol® or any green coffee bean extract product containing Svetol®, whether or not they were sold under or using the Svetol® trademark (the ‘Products’), including but not limited to the Labrada Fat Loss Optimizer with Svetol® Green Coffee Bean Extract for personal or household use and not for resale, from February 2, 2012 until May 17, 2019.”

Potential Award

$30 per purchase.

Class Members who are able to submit proof of purchase along with their Claim Form will receive $30 for each product purchased. Those who are unable to provide receipts are limited to submitting two claims for a total of $60.

None required, but those who are able to submit proof of purchase will receive a higher payout.
