Rexall Sundown Inc. and NBTY Inc. have agreed to a class action settlement over allegations they made false statements on the labels of some of their joint health supplements.
Consumers who purchased certain glucosamine and chondroitin joint supplements manufactured by Rexall Sundown may be entitled to compensation from the class action settlement.
If approved, this settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit that alleges Rexall and NBTY made false statements on the labels of their glucosamine and chondroitin joint health supplements. The plaintiffs do not assert any allegations related to the safety of the joint health supplements and have not alleged any injuries.
A settlement was initially reached in this class action lawsuit in 2013, but the settlement was not approved by the court. No payments were made under that class action settlement.
Rexall denies the allegations and stands by the efficacy of its glucosamine joint health products. However, the supplement maker agreed to settle the class action lawsuits to avoid the risk, expense and delay of trial.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the Rexall glucosamine settlement include all consumers who purchased certain joint health dietary supplements that were manufactured or sold by Rexall or any of its affiliates.

Proof of purchase is not required to submit a claim; however, claims may be audited for completeness, fraud and abuse.

You’ll need to contact the settlement administrator or class counsel regarding the status of your claim: https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/330586-rexall-glucosamine-joint-supplement-class-action-settlement/. Unfortunately, the settlement website is no longer active, but you can write the PO Box listed. Class counsel is also listed in the article and can be Googled for contact information.
