Those who were victims of an alleged scam by Payless Solutions LLC, promising to help consumers save money on their debts but offering nothing in return, may be set to receive a check from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

According to the FTC, Payless Solutions LLC illegally telemarketed unwitting consumers nationwide, falsely offering help with credit card interest rate reductions.

Payless claimed that it could help consumers, many of them seniors, pay off debt faster and even save them $2,500. The company then convinced consumers to provide their credit card information and subsequently charged them up to $4,999.

Some consumers reported that they received a financial education packet in return, but most saw nothing, reports the agency. The Payless Solutions scam allegedly worked by using a robocall to contact consumer under the guise of “Card Services.”

The call claimed that the customer qualified for a program to lower their credit card interest rate. In some cases, representatives told consumers that they worked for their bank or credit card company.

Consumers say they were asked for their credit card and Social Security numbers as a part of the scam.

The FTC, along with the State of Florida, charged Payless with illegal telemarketing, consumer fraud and abuse. As a result of the litigation, Payless and the related defendants, will be required to pay nearly $5 million.

Payless and other defendants are also permanently barred from robocalling, telemarketing, and providing debt relief services.

The FTC reports that it has sent Claim Forms to eligible consumers based on Payless Solution’s records. Eligible consumers must apply for the refund by Jan. 4, 2019.

please add me also. I get no less than 8-10 calls a day where either I answer and say hello then wait for an answer to either be hung up upon or I get a person saying that they want to help me with my credit card debt. They also call on my daughter’s phone which I find funny as she is only 12 and doesn’t have any credit card

For several months, about 7, 1 cannot begin to decipher how much money I have lost from sales across the country because it got to the point where I was actually feeling like I was losing my mind and I refuse to answer the phone or if I answered and someone didn’t answer on the third hello I would slam the phone down or I would find myself absolutely Furious no phone calls should make anyone feel that way one day I counted 27 on my home phone and 13 on my cell phone in the same day. yes I blocked calls till
my phone wouldn’t accept any more block calls. They were foreigners some of them were salespeople some of them were playing robocalls they wouldn’t answer when I went answer or they were selling something that I never asked for or they were trying to talk you in to something and they were recording so you couldn’t say anything back to them I have no way to tell you how aggravating and irritating all of this has been. And again only God knows how much money I’ve lost in sales because I sell products across the United States. My sales have dropped dramatically to the point where now I’m having to go for County help for food and begging for someone to help me pay my electric bill or my internet and phone bill this is so ridiculous and all because of these guys being allowed to do this and getting away with it

You won’t be able to do anything if you don’t have a login. The administrator (Rust Consulting) makes it very difficult for consumers to file a claim. If you didn’t receive anything in the mail or have solid proof then forget it.

    2. Dustin says:

Pretty rude man. Think back to a decision you made that you regretted later. If you don’t have an example already, consider looking like an ass by posting that comment as you did.

Everyone makes mistakes, it doesn’t make them stupid.
