A $650,000 settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging certain baby wipes manufactured by Nutek Disposables Inc. were contaminated with a type of bacteria that caused some users to suffer skin infections and other symptoms.
If you purchased or used baby wipes manufactured by Nutek between Oct. 25, 2013 and Oct. 25, 2014, you may be entitled to payment from the baby wipes recall class action settlement.
The proposed baby wipes recall settlement will resolve class action lawsuits filed against Nutek, First Quality Enterprises Inc., First Quality Consumer Products LLC, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Family Dollar Stores Inc., Walgreen Co. d/b/a Walgreens, Fred’s Inc. and Fred’s of Tennessee Inc., alleging these companies sold, manufactured, distributed or marketed contaminated baby wipes products.
The baby wipes class action lawsuits allege that certain Nutek baby wipes were contaminated with the bacteria Burkholderia cepacia, which allegedly caused some individuals to develop skin irritation or infections, bacterial genitourinary tract infections or other symptoms. The affected Nutek baby wipes were recalled due to this bacterial contamination.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing and believe the contaminated baby wipes class action lawsuits are without merit. However, they have agreed to a baby wipes class action settlement to avoid the cost and risk of ongoing litigation.
The Nutek baby wipes class action lawsuit was preliminarily approved on June 15, 2017.
The deadline to opt out of or object to the baby wipes class action settlement is Nov. 27, 2017.

I have something in my informed delivery from them today…
A request stating I didn’t send in supporting docs. I send over 30 pages of hospital records from two visits one my baby was admitted and I have a week. Good thing I made copies this time I will send it certified mail
I have something in the mail from them today not sure if it’s a check because I am out of town.
It’s not a check request for more information.
Great news Christina….. Did he have any idea of amounts?
It is not known how quickly claims will be paid. It can take a settlement administrator several months to review and process claims. You can contact the settlement administrator with any questions about the status of your claim: https://secure.dahladmin.com/NUTEK/ContactUs
Christina I agree. I sent in two different hospital records and one my baby was admitted for 3 days because of those darn wipes….. So they better not ask me for anything either I sent over 25 pages in. And they take there sweet time paying out.
Please give us an update on this settlement!
Any updates so far TCA?
So basically, I have to object to this settlement in order to get my large sum of $9.00 in compensation? Is there an online objection form to this?
How do people get emails or postcards noting that they can claim something. I know I have purchased these several times but of course I don’t keep the receipts. I don’t usually do that for something we use and throw away. Is there a way that a company cross references credit card information with my address/email or something?
i understand why they want proof, but how many people really keep proof of this type of purchase? i guess the only way to make sure we have records of purchases nowadays is to keep ALL receipts or start purchasing everything online.
This is unfortunate that we will not benefit from this law suit.
Miles did they contact you to provide proof of purchase?
