A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Google Inc. failed to disclose to AdWords customers that advertisements would be placed on parked domains and error pages.
If you had a Google AdWords account between July 11, 2004 and March 31, 2008 and you were charged for clicks on advertisements that appeared on parked domains or error pages, you may be entitled to a cash payment from the Google AdWords class action settlement.
The plaintiffs filed the Google class action lawsuit in 2008, alleging Google failed to disclose to AdWords customers that it would place their advertisements on parked domains and error pages. The plaintiffs assert that parked domains and error pages are low-quality websites that contain little or no content. They claim Google violated California laws against unfair competition and false advertising.
“Google represents that it places ads on ‘high quality’ search and content sites, that is, websites where advertisements will be placed alongside contextually relevant search results or content,” the plaintiffs state in their third amended complaint.
“However, during the Class Period, Google concealed from advertisers that it actually was placing substantial numbers of their ads on low quality parked domain and error pages that contained little or no content, and which could not be accessed through what internet users considered to be ‘search.’”
According to the AdWords class action lawsuit, Google knew that AdWords customers did not believe that advertising on the low-quality websites would provide a good return on their investment, and that customers did not want their businesses to be associated with parked domains or error pages.
Google denies the allegations but agreed to pay $22.5 million to settle the AdWords class action lawsuit. The Google AdWords class action settlement was preliminarily approved on March 9, 2017.
Class Members who want to exclude themselves from or object to the Google AdWords settlement must submit their requests no later than June 21, 2017.

To be eligible for payment, you must have spent at least $1 on AdWords ads served on parked domains and error pages during the Class Period.

These jackass lawyers got rich on this, but the people who actually used the service got a whopping $1.11 check, I would like to throw it in their faces. They may get off with acting this way, but one day Karma will strike. I want to see it when it does.
What a complete sham. As someone who spent anywhere from $500 to $3000 per day on average for approx 2 years, Google claimed that I had received only 8 bad ad-views during that time. Relying on the company that has to pay for it’s wrongdoing to supply the evidence against itself in this matter was obviously a stupid move on the attorney’s and courts part. My whopping $1.05 check is a joke, as I believe this settlement right here is the true insult and injury that all of us have been subjected to.
Ya we did about 184k during the period in question and have not received our ACH deposit yet – you comment worries me!
if you had an account They send you a claim number Plus I was apart of this LawSuit back when it first started in 2008 i forget but they sent me 300 bucks or something like that everyone else got like .57 cents strange but i had over 13,000 in ads so I guess thats why.
My daughter and I have multiple but we do not have a claim number or pin number how do we get one?
We have multiple and I would like to be added to this claim.
no claim number, as we were told we would have, More fraud???
We had multiple accounts, many of which I cannot retrieve the emails. Do you have any suggestions?
The “file a claim” portion mentions to enter claim number. Then, the link to file a claim mentions it can be found in we received. Yet, the only emails I’ve received has a notice of this case yet without a claim number. Can someone please clarify?
