Froedter Health Inc. has agreed to pay $2 million as part of a class action lawsuit settlement resolving a lawsuit that alleged the company released private information through Meta Pixel technology on its websites. Froedter denies all claims and allegations of wrongdoing.

The payout applies to all persons, including employees, who logged into a MyChart patient portal account at least once between Feb. 1, 2017, and May 23, 2022.

The Froedtert Heath lawsuit alleges the health organization violated privacy laws by disclosing personal health information to Facebook through Meta Pixel, an analytical tool that tracks website visitor activities. The company allegedly disclosed personal information from its MyChart patient portal and its public websites.

Froedter Health is a Wisconsin-based integrated health system that provides a variety of services.

Class members may receive an equal share of the settlement fund by filing a valid claim form. 

Those wanting to exclude themselves from or object to the Froedtert Health settlement must do so no later than Sept. 5, 2023.

A final fairness hearing in the Froedtert Health Meta Pixel class action lawsuit settlement will take place Sept. 29, 2023. 

Those wishing to claim a portion of the settlement must submit their claim form by Oct. 5, 2023.

Those who logged into a MyChart patient portal account maintained by Froedtert at least once between February 1, 2017, and May 23, 2022
