A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging comScore Inc. collected information from consumers’ computers through its data collection software without getting their consent. If you had comScore’s software downloaded and installed on your computer at any time since 2005, you could be eligible for benefits from the comScore class action settlement.
The privacy class action lawsuit alleged comScore used certain versions of its data collection software (called RelevantKnowledge or PremierOpinion) to unlawfully collect information from consumers’ computers. If you downloaded and installed RelevantKnowledge or PremierOpinion, you most likely did so through one of comScore’s bundling partners. Bundling partners are individuals or companies who distribute their own software for free over the internet. Through an agreement with comScore, these entities have “bundled” comScore’s data collection software with their downloadable software, and you may have been asked to install comScore’s software.
ComScore has agreed to pay $14 million into a class action settlement fund, which will be distributed on a pro rata basis to Class Members who submit valid and timely Claim Forms. Under the terms of the privacy class action settlement, comScore has also agreed to take certain steps to modify its disclosures and the process for obtaining consent for the download and installation of its data collection software.
ComScore denies the allegations but has agreed to settle the privacy class action lawsuit to avoid burdensome and costly litigation.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the comScore class action settlement include all individuals and entities in the United States and its territories who had comScore’s data collection software downloaded and installed on their computers via a bundling partner, and used their computer in interstate commerce and/or communication.
Potential Award
Up to $11,000, depending on how many Class Members submit valid claims for the comScore class action settlement. The payment will be an equal share of the amount available in the Settlement Fund. It is estimated that, based on the expected rate of claims, each Class Member who submits a valid Claim Form will receive approximately $200.
Proof of Purchase
N/A. Class Members must provide information under the penalty of perjury about why they believe they are eligible for benefits from the comScore class action settlement. Class Members must also be able to provide the email address they used when comScore’s software was installed on their computer.

Has anyone received a notification that their claim was DENIED? As someone previously mentioned, its pretty common for people to have more than one email address, these days.
dena ,i called to update my address ,they took my previous address ,new phone number & info ,and they call you back next day and tell you whether you are valid
DENA, YOUR CLAIM IS JUST FINE,TRUST ME,IF THEY WERE GOING TO SEND OUT DENIAL LETTERS,YOU WOULD HAVE LONG RECVD ONE BY NOW,YOU JUST START WATCHING YOUR MAIL BOX APRIL 20, 2015.HAVE A GOOD DAY
Just spoke the claims administrator for ComScore everyone will be getting a check for 597.21 if you had a valid claim. They are suppose to be mailed on 4/20/2015.
Did the send out any denial letters?
QT and leave message if they are closed and they will call you back .
you can call them at (312)589-6370 and they will tell you the amount is not known yet .Yesterday they told me my claim is valid & excepted and will be mailed at the end of the month that is all they know ,no lawyers are calling anyone the are the people that check messages and answer phone messages.
Sandra ur tripping when I called they informed me that the checks will be for 597 and mailed out on April 20th! Whoohoo!
I just spoke with a representative today and she told me that the checks will go out at the end of this month and that they do not no the amount. So I was pretty much told the same thing that Sandra said.
THANKS DIANN, WELL I WISH US ALL THE BEST.
You’re welcome. I do as well
Diann, who told you the amount of checks ?
A lawyer from Edelson today.
They told me yesterday they don’t know the amount yet .and everyone will receive the same amount & also if you get an email ,if its not to update your contact info ,it is not from them
Checks will be mailed out end of this month in the amount of $598
The amount is not known yet.According to the comments from some people here the lawyers they talked to do not know the final amount.
THANKS DIANN for the info.I hope everyone that filed, recvd that amount. if not more.GOOD LUCK to you all.
I got my check today in the amount of $597.61. I forgot about filling for this.
I thought they had 90 days to pay out after settlement closes. Isn’t it pass 90 days now ! what is going on here ? No updates at all. This isn’t fair at all.
checks go out late THIS MONTH.GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
sassy you are correct got a cal a few minutes ago from one of the people that answers questions and here is what she said
April 6, 2015 at 9:01 am
call from settlement administration answering service from leaving a message last night. She said that the checks will be mailed later this month ,and it’s taking more time because the had to contact people that left information off the claim form and let them remedy it by filling in the information .She also said it’s taking more time because each plaintiff will receive the same amount of money if you are qualified ,and that they do not have a list of people to check and see if we are on it .So look for those checks people ! later this month ! Money Money Money !
Did she say how much?
No ,she said they don’t know the amount yet of checks & they dont have a list to let you know if you were approved
Thank you sassy .I know I had both from answering surveys and from giving feedback on websites .
I RECVD CALL TODAY CLAIMS ADMINISTRATOR REP. STATED THAT MY CLAIM WAS VALAID. (312)589-6370 IS THE # SHE CALLED ME FROM.CHECKS ARE STILL BEING MAILED OUT THE END OF THE MONTH.
Thanks for the updates Sassy! I know that my claim is valid because the sent me an email in June saying that i downloaded the software and i filled out my claim then.
how can these final orders not be followed if they are finalized how can the company hold the money? Who follows up with the final order? Does everyone have to get together and file suit against them for not following judgement?
any more updates?
I don’t claim to know anymore than anyone else, however the way I read what was available online indicated that the claim reps (which would be dunstan and harris and who all they had with them) would receive the 11,000 dollars and all the others who had valid claims would receive anywhere from 200-700 dollars depending on what you read. The fact, tho, that its hard to tell who is valid, impossible to reach anyone via phone, and without any updated information makes me wonder if anybody will ever get anything. May just be wishful thinking…I hope if anyone does get check they will let others know!
$500-$700 or another person said a lawyer told her it would be $11,000 because not that many people filed VALID claims. So it could go up to as much as 11,000 the fewer the claims are.I know mine is valid because they sent me an email in June saying that their records indicate that i downloaded their software.I just know i better get my money! LOL
