Consumers nationwide who answered an automated telephone call attempting to sell Allstate insurance products may be eligible for compensation in the form of a payment thanks to a recent Allstate telemarketing class action lawsuit settlement.
Settlement Class Members include all U.S. residents who received one or more calls from Allstate between Sep. 23, 2016, and Oct. 1, 2021, that began as an automated attempt to sell goods or services and were then transferred to an Allstate agent.
Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit allege they did not give Allstate prior consent to call them on their provided phone number. On top of that, plaintiffs claim, many of those calls were made to individuals who had previously put their numbers on the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry. As a result, plaintiffs argue, Allstate violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Allstate denies any wrongdoing and does not accept legal liability for the claims made by the plaintiffs.Â
The Court hasn’t reviewed the facts surrounding the allegations. Instead, all parties have agreed to the terms of the proposed settlement agreement to avoid the risks and costs associated with continued litigation.
Allstate, which was founded back in 1931, is one of the nation’s leading insurance providers.Â
According to recent statistics reported by ValuePenguin, the company holds 9 percent of the overall market share, making it the fourth-largest auto insurance provider.
Allstate Telemarketing Settlement Benefits
Class Members with a valid claim are eligible to receive a one-time payment of $450 in the form of a check. This payment applies regardless of how many times the Class Member got called.
A final approval hearing in the Allstate insurance telemarketing settlement is set to take place Aug. 15, 2022.
Eligible Class Members who want to receive their rightful payment must file a timely claim.
Class Members who do not agree with the proposed settlement have the right to file an objection by May 5, 2022.Â
Class Members who do not want to remain a part of the Settlement Class but want to retain the right to seek out a future claim must exclude themselves from the lawsuit. The deadline to file an exclusion is May 5, 2022.
The deadline to file a claim in the Allstate insurance telemarketing lawsuit settlement is May 20, 2022.
