StarKist and Lion Capital agreed to pay $3.875 million in a tuna settlement to resolve claims that they conspired to raise and fix the price of foodservice-size tuna products.

The settlement benefits individuals and entities that purchased Foodservice-Size Packaged Tuna Products (40 oz. or greater) directly from DOT Foods, Sysco, US Foods, Samโ€™s Club, Walmart or Costco between June 1, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2016.

According to the tuna price-fixing class action lawsuit, StarKist and Lion Capital conspired with other tuna manufacturers to raise and fix the price of foodservice-size packaged tuna products. Purchasers claim that they were forced to pay a higher price for these products due to this alleged conspiracy.

StarKist is a canned tuna brand. Lion Capital is the former owner of Bumble Bee, another canned tuna brand.

The tuna companies havenโ€™t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay a combined $3.875 million to resolve the price-fixing class action lawsuit. StarKist will contribute $3.6 million to the settlement fund, while Lion will contribute $275,000.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund based on the amount they paid in eligible purchases during the class period. Class members who received postcard notices showing their qualifying purchase values will receive payments based on these values. Class members who received postcard notices without qualifying purchase values will receive no payment from the settlement.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 30, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the tuna price-fixing settlement is scheduled for Nov. 15, 2024.

No claim form is required to benefit from the tuna settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive settlement payments.

If you are 75, you havent learned much of nothing. You are like the KROLL Company, they WASTE EVERYONEโ€™S TIME asking them to file for a class action ONLY if they mailed you a code and so on, Knowing dam well that they do not have your address. But it is just another way for KROLL Settlement Adminstration to take all of the EXTRA $100000000000000000 of money because only a handfull have received a code or ? it is bullsh!!!!!!!!!!! eVERYONE NEEDS TO File lawsuits against KROLL. They are so unethical, and communistic that it is high time for their day to show up in court. We finally have 4 attorneys that are investigating their actions and unethical procedures on filing class action settlements, when it says you do not need proof, and go thru the process only to be denied by Kroll so that Kroll can keep the extra money!

    1. Wet Hen says:

      unethical Attorney,
Bwahahaha! The tuna fixing suit is NOT for consumers personal use. Did you read, AND UNDERSTAND, who can file a claim (rhetoric, no answer needed).
You want to see Kroll? File it! Iโ€™ll be the first to sign.
It may be you want to sue TCA because they arenโ€™t listing any free monies that you are eligible for? Oh wait, you care not if your eligible or not. Itโ€™s free right. bwahahaha!
      Get a life pal.

15 freaking pages of comments and like always, 99% of the comments are all you clueless, embarrassingly dumb people saying the same thing, โ€œADD ME!โ€œ Or the other annoying comment you all use โ€œIโ€™VE BEEN/ MY FAMILY HAS BEEN BUYING _______ FOR MANY YEARS, PLEASE ADD ME!โ€

Seriously, I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s because all of you are 100 freaking years old and the last 25yrs youโ€™ve been to stupid to keep up with the very basic way the internet and technology works. But seriously if you all would use BASIC COMMON SENSE for one damn second and ask yourselfโ€ฆ
โ€œhmm why would I type โ€˜ADD MEโ€™ in the comments, who am I even asking, a LOT of people work with this company, and most importantly WHY WOULD I THINK ANYONE WHO READS THIS KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ME, HOW WOULD THEY ADDME??โ€
Alright you daft, ancient, old dummies
Understand what Iโ€™m saying?? Youโ€™re saying โ€œADD ME!โ€ to people who have never met you, know NOTHING about you and most importantly, canโ€™t fill out claims for you, only the person who wants to claim canโ€ฆ So stop being unbelievablely thick and fill out the claim form like everyone non stupid person does. And if you donโ€™t know where and how? Then concider this your wakeup call and punishment for never understand the basics of the internet.

    1. Wet Hen says:

Hey smarty pants, Iโ€™m 75 years young! Iโ€™ve never commented with โ€œadd me.โ€
