Three class action settlements have recently begun paying out, and consumers are receiving a second payout in a fourth settlement.
AMD CPUs Class Action Settlement Checks in the Mail
Consumers who filed a claim in the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CPUs class action lawsuit have been receiving second payments of up to $8.77 from the settlement fund.
A class action lawsuit had alleged the company misrepresented its “Bulldozer” lines of CPUs, marketing them as having eight cores when they only had four.
The deadline to file a claim was Jan. 3, 2020.
The AMD CPUs Class Action Lawsuit was Dickey, et al. v. Advanced Micro Devices Inc., Case No. 4:15-cv-04922, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Coach Outlet Discount Pricing Class Action Settlement Checks in the Mail
Coach Outlet shoppers have reported receiving checks in the mail for $6.55 thanks to a class action settlement.
Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit claimed the items they supposedly bought at a discount at Coach Outlet stores had not actually been available for sale at Coach’s regular retail locations.
The claim deadline was Jan. 21, 2021.
The Coach Outlet Discount Pricing Class Action Lawsuit was Marino, et al. v. Coach Inc., Case No. 1:16-cv-01122-VEC (OTW), in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
San Diego Airport Car Rental Class Action Settlement Checks in the Mail
Top Class Actions viewers have reported receiving checks in the mail for as much as $70 in the San Diego airport car rental fees class action settlement.
The class action lawsuit was filed by consumers who rented cars at San Diego International Airport and were charged certain fees that constituted an unlawful tax.
Claims were required to be filed by Oct. 20, 2020.
The San Diego Airport Car Rental Fees Class Action Lawsuit was Garvin, et al. v. San Diego Unified Port District, Case No. 37-2020-00015054-CU-MC-CTL, in the California Superior Court for San Diego.
Verizon Wireless Family SharePlan Class Action Settlement Checks in the Mail
Verizon Wireless customers have reported to TCA that they recently have received checks in the mail for as much as $52.28.
Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit had alleged Verizon improperly billed certain Family SharePlan customers for different per-minute rates for “after-allowance” minutes used by different phone lines, which the plaintiffs say violated the company’s customer contracts, as well as state and federal law.
The claim deadline was April 29, 2015.
The Verizon Wireless Family SharePlan Class Action Lawsuit was Demmick, et al. v. Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless, Case No. 2:06-cv-02163-JLL-MF, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
