What is a Settlement Administrator?

A Settlement Administrator is a third-party entity appointed by the court to handle the settlement claims process, including:

  • Distributing the Settlement Notice to Class Members.
  • Reviewing Claim Forms and approving or denying them.
  • Paying out awards for valid claims.

Most Settlement Administrators create a special, court-approved website to serve as a hub for information about the case, including court documents and updates about when payments will be distributed. Settlement Administrator websites also provide a way for Class Members to electronically file their Claim Forms.

Top Class Actions is not a Settlement Administrator, but we use their websites to help inform our viewers about how to file a claim for a class action settlement. We also use Settlement Administrator websites, in combination with other sources such as court documents, to provide updates about the status of a settlement, including when it has been approved and when claims are expected to pay out. If the Settlement Administrator has not updated its website, or if there have been no new court documents filed, we cannot provide updates.

Top Class Actions is a legal news source that reports on class action lawsuits, class action settlements, drug injury lawsuits, and product liability lawsuits. We do not process claims and we cannot advise you on the status of any individual class action settlement claim. You must contact the Settlement Administrator for any updates regarding your personal claim status, how to fill out a Claim Form, how to update your mailing address, or with any other questions about your claim.

Does anyone know what is going on with mass tort case regarding Eli and lily Cymbalta? I know they have settled . My questions are, for how much, what happens fro here , when we will we see a check?

    1. Top Class Actions says:

If you are a plaintiff in a Cymbalta mass tort, you should contact your attorney for settlement updates. Unfortunately, mass tort settlements are not the same as a class action settlements. Mass tort settlements are distributed to the specific individuals included in the mass tort. Unlike a class action settlement, which is opened up to class members in addition to the plaintiffs.
