Lipari Foods has issued a voluntary recall of certain lots of its non-branded sesame sticks mix and salted sunflower meat tube products over concerns they contain undeclared cashews, a tree-nut allergen.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews run the risk of a serious or life- threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” states the recall published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Oct. 11.
The recalled products were packaged by JLM TUBS and distributed to retail stores in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, New York, Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Lipari Foods says it has received no reports of illness in connection with the recall.

Flower Foods Inc. also issued a voluntary recall earlier this month in three countries for its Tastykake and Mrs. Freshley’s glazed pies after discovering they contained undeclared soy, a potential allergen.
