Another coronavirus vaccine boasting a high success rate after a clinical trial has been reportedly announced by Moderna Inc.

According to the announcement, the Moderna coronavirus vaccine boasted a 94.5% effective rate in a test conducted on 15,000 study participants. CNN Health reports that only five of the test subjects developed COVID-19 after receiving the vaccination and none became seriously ill.

“These are obviously very exciting results,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease reportedly said after the company’s announcement. “It’s just as good as it gets — 94.5% is truly outstanding.”

According to Dr. Fauci, high-risk groups could see vaccinations as early as late December and the general population may have access in the spring. Moderna will reportedly need to apply for authorization from the Food and Drug Administration after it obtains additional safety data from study participants.

In addition to the high success rate, the vaccine appears to have mild side effects, if any, in test subjects with a small percentage reportedly developing head and body aches after administration.

Ninety study participants who received the placebo shot reportedly developed coronavirus and 11 became seriously ill with the disease.

According to The New York Times, Moderna’s announcement concerns preliminary findings from their clinical trial. The results of the vaccine study were disclosed to Moderna during a call with the clinical trial’s Data Safety and Monitoring Board.

“It was one of the greatest moments in my life and my career,” one of Moderna’s lead researchers told CNN reporters upon hearing the results. “It is absolutely amazing to be able to develop this vaccine and see the ability to prevent symptomatic disease with such high efficacy.”

A coronavirus vaccine may be available soon. The announcement of a second apparently successful coronavirus vaccine is welcome news. Cases of COVID-19 have reportedly surged over 10 million this month, with more than a million people dead from the disease.

Pfizer has also reported successful vaccine trials, with its clinical trial boasting a 90% success rate. According to the Associated Press, a total of 11 companies are rushing to develop a vaccine. Four studies are currently being conducted in the United States with spots still open for participants.

According to AP News, both Moderna and Pfizer’s vaccinations do not carry the risk that someone can develop coronavirus from the shot. The vaccinations are made with mRNA technology that does not use COVID-19. Instead, the vaccines use genetic codes to teach immunity to the proteins contained on the virus.

“We’re not to the finish line yet,” an infectious disease expert told AP News. “If there’s an impression or perception that there’s just a rubber stamp, or due diligence wasn’t done to look at the data, that could weaken public confidence.”

Indeed, even once the vaccinations are developed, they must be distributed in one of the largest vaccination campaigns ever in the United States, according to AP News. Reportedly, Pfizer’s vaccination will need to stay frozen at negative 94 degrees. Moderna says that, while its vaccine starts frozen, it can be kept in refrigerated conditions once it thaws.

“We…hope the clinical trials will continue to collect data, because it’s really going to be important for us to know in the long term,” stated a representative for the World Health Organization.

Indeed, questions remain about the long term effectiveness of any coronavirus vaccination, as well as side effects in different populations.

I agree. Hard to believe this is a website that purports to uphold the law really in light of this advertorial for Big Pharma.

Are you serious? Let’s break this down shall we? The article you have decided to reprint states ““We’re not to the finish line yet,” an infectious disease expert told AP News.”- Please tell us the exact name and the credentials of the un named “infections disease expert”. I cannot believe that endorsements given by CNN and New York Times (very unreliable sources of factual news) and the now retired (and criminal) Dr. Fauci are actually being used here. Who is financing “Top Class Actions”= we’d like to know the source of your funding. Thank you. What is the point of this particular reference? The class action law suit should be looking at how to make the Big Pharma funded institutions accountable for their role in global crimes against humanity. Seriously.
