Update from the President of TCA

Hooray! September is closing out BIG for us! I had a number of contracts out to clients and they’re all coming in. It’s funny how it works. One month a goose egg. NOTHING! No new business. The next month you get flooded. Sink or swim, right? It’s the great thing about owning your own business. You never know what to expect. It keeps life exciting.

This month we also had our third inquiry this year about buying the business. We decided to hold off on continuing with this bid until next year. Why? Right now we’re in the process of building an entirely new attorney network which will revolutionize how people connect with lawyers. In my opinion this will dramatically affect the valuation of the business. Because of that I’d rather roll the dice and try sell it for more later than take a “safe” offer now. At the same time, we’re profitable, and I love working with my clients and helping consumers. I’m in no hurry to sell. Make sense?

A few interesting cases in the past few weeks. Naked Juice, while very yummy, may not be so naked. It turns out that it has genetically modified organisms (yum?) and synthetic substances or at least this class action lawsuit alleges that. Also, did you ever get an annoying pop-up ad pitching McAfee software? A settlement is paying people up to $30 per claim. Oh, and Southwest Airlines is accused of being a teetotaler. OK, I made that up, you can still drink on their flights but it looks like you won’t be able to use certain free coupons for drinks anymore. Boo!

I’m off to start the weekend early. Cheers!

Warm Regards,

Scott Hardy

President
