Update from the President of TCA

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week! We’ve been busy with Hanukkah and Christmas at the Hardy home. Surprisingly we decided the girls didn’t have enough “stuff” so there have been some mad dashes to the store to close out their Christmas lists. Like many parents out there, we also deal with the late night Elf of the Shelf shocker… That’s what happens when everyone is cozy in bed and you remember your Elf hasn’t moved yet!!! All of a sudden you’re wide awake, trying to figure out somewhere NEW to put your elf (and new pet reindeer). Will they fit on lamp above the dining room table? Nope, not without additional support. How about the Christmas tree? Nope, already did that. Thank God Christmas is in the a few days so we won’t have the late night elf dashes anymore. I have to admit that Sydney and Aubrey LOVE our elf “Peanut” though. Kids help you relive the excitement of Christmas and it’s really fantastic to see the excited gleam in their eyes when you talk about Santa or their Christmas elf. Really fun!

On the work side of things, we just launched a couple of new campaigns. I thought we were done for the year, but when one of our best clients calls, we deliver! I’m also doing year-end tax and financial planning for the business which tends to put a small damper on my mood. I’m an operations and sales guy. I’d rather be selling than digging through thousands of rows of financial entries. Every penny counts though, and we have to keep track where every cent goes, so it has to be done! I may have a bookkeeper and accountant to help out, but NO ONE is as concerned about our bottom line as me. As our revenue grows, so does that responsibility. In fact, I had one client who was TWO MONTHS LATE in paying us. This rarely happens, but I almost said “heck with it.” It was a “small” amount, and I won’t work with them anymore, so I was about to write it off. I then woke up from MY irresponsibility and said to myself “Hey, we did the work, we delivered on our promise, they signed new clients, why the heck don’t we deserve to be paid?!?!?!” I then worked directly with the leader of the firm and GOT PAID! It wasn’t easy, but they paid in the end. Every penny counts! You can’t give up in this business. Every single person who works on Top Class Actions works HARD and deserves they money they earn. OK, back to the financials for me.
