2 Vaginal Mesh Juries Award More Than $45M– Within a week of each other, two separate juries awarded a total of more than $45 million after finding that Boston Scientific Corp. failed to adequately warn about the risks associated with its transvaginal mesh implants. The vaginal mesh lawsuits were filed by women who allege they suffered organ damage and pain after thetransvaginal mesh products eroded inside their bodies.

Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic ZIP Code Class Action Settlement – Old Navy LLC, The Gap Inc. and Banana Republic LLC have agreed to settle class action lawsuits alleging they improperly asked customers at some of their stores to provide their ZIP codes when they made a purchase with a credit card. If you shopped at certain Old Navy, Gap Outlet or Banana Republic Factory Stores and had your personal information requested and recorded when you paid with a credit card, you could be entitled to benefits from the class action settlement.

Pseudotumor Cerebri Can Result in Permanent Vision Loss – A disorder known as pseudotumorcerebri can cause swelling of the optic nerve and result in permanent blindness. People taking growth hormones, certain types of birth control and excess vitamin A may be at an increased risk ofpseudotumor cerebri. If you or a loved one were diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri or intracranial hypertension after using birth control, you may have a legal claim.

Arco AmPm Debit Card Fee Class Action Settlement – A jury has determined that BP West Coast Products LLC did not properly disclose its prices for gas for customers who used a debit card to pay for gas at certain Arco gas stations andAmPm mini markets. If you were charged a debit card transaction fee when making a purchase at Arco or AmPm with a debit card, you may be entitled to receive a cash payment.

Navy Machinist Wins $71M Asbestos Mesothelioma Settlement  – A California jury has awarded a former Navy machinist $71 million after it found the gasket manufacturer John Crane was negligent for failing to warn about the dangers of working with their products, which contained asbestos. This asbestos exposure allegedly caused the man to develop mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer. If you or a loved one were exposed to asbestos and developed mesothelioma, lung cancer, or cancer in the lining of the lungs, abdomen or chest cavity, you may be able to take legal action against the companies responsible.

Lennox Air Conditioning Class Action Settlement – Lennox Industries Inc. has reached a class action settlement over allegations it knowingly sold air conditioning and heat pump units with defectively manufactured condenser coils. Consumers who purchased the allegedly defective Lennox air conditioning or heat pump units may be eligible for benefits from the class action settlement.

Lawsuit Blames Johnson’s, Gold Bond Body Powder for Ovarian Cancer Death – A lawsuit has blamed the manufacturers of Johnson’s Baby Powder and Gold Bond Body Powder for causing a woman to develop ovarian cancer, which led to her death. Talc particles can reportedly travel through the reproductive system and become embedded in the lining of the ovaries. Studies show that women who regularly use talcum powder on the genital area have an increased risk of ovarian cancer.

Update from the President of TCA

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving! I got to enjoy it with my family. We went down to Tucson and spent time with all of the grandparents. I’m very lucky and blessed to have my parents, and my beautiful wife’s parents, around to celebrate the holidays with. The girls get so excited when They get to see Nana, Papa, Grandpa and Grandma. It’s wonderful that we get to spend time with everyone and that they’re only a bit more than an hour away. Many of my friends don’t have family close, or around anymore, which makes me appreciate these times even more.

On the work side of things, the holidays don’t really slow things down. We’ve got new campaigns kicking off this month and we are working hard to increase the number of class actions we cover.
