Turnkey Realty LLC has promised to pay a total of $600,000 in class action lawsuit settlement payments to those whose personal information may have been compromised in a data security breach.
The settlement class includes any person to whom Turnkey Realty provided notification that his or her personal information might have been compromised in the data breach that occurred on or about Sept. 10, 2021.
The plaintiffs alleged in the class action lawsuit that an unauthorized user gained access to their personally identifiable information, protected health information and other personal information.
Turnkey denies any wrongdoing.
Turnkey Realty LLC is based in Pennsylvania. The breach is believed to have put more than 40,000 people at risk for identity theft, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General. The breach occurred between Sept. 10 and 11, 2021, but was not discovered until April 28, 2022.
Members of the settlement class must submit a valid claim form to be eligible to receive any benefits from the lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Turnkey Realty data breach lawsuit settlement, class members are eligible to claim up to $350 in unreimbursed ordinary losses relating to fraud, identity theft or professional fees; up to $5,000 in compensation for documented “extraordinary” monetary losses that more likely than not were caused by the security breach; and $25 per hour for up to four hours of lost time spent dealing with the breach, as long as at least one full hour was spent remedying or taking preventive measures agaist fraud, idenity theft or other misuse of personal information fairly traceable to the breach.
Class members also are be eligible to enroll in three years of single-bureau credit monitoring, with $1,000,000 in reimbursement insurance, as well as identity-restoration services.
The deadline for opting out or objecting to the settlement has passed.
A final approval hearing is set for Nov. 9, 2023.
The claim form deadline is Sept. 27, 2023.

Any person to whom Turnkey Reatly provided notification that his or her personal information might have been compromised in the data breach that occurred on or about Sept. 10, 2021.

Proof of Purchase
Receipts or other documentation not “self-prepared” by the class member that documents the costs incurred. Self-prepared documents, such as handwritten receipts, on their own are not sufficient for the class member to receive reimbursement, but can be considered to add clarity or support other submitted documentation.
