Golden Corral class action: Plaintiff expected company to better safeguard her data
“Plaintiff only allowed Defendant to maintain, store, and use her private information because she believed that Defendant would use basic security measures to protect her private information, such as requiring passwords and multi-factor authentication to access databases storing her private information,” Morrow’s lawsuit says. “As a result, Plaintiff’s private information was within the possession and control of Defendant at the time of the data breach.”
Golden Corral runs 400 buffet-style restaurants in 43 states and Puerto Rico, and also oversees 100 franchise locations. The company employs more than 9,000 people and generates approximately $195 million in annual revenue, the lawsuits say.
Another data breach-related class action alleges Verizon is responsible for harm to its workers during a “preventable” September 2023 hack that exposed the personal information of 63,000 employees, a class action lawsuit alleges.
