Alacrity Solutions Group agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that a 2021 data breach compromised consumer information.
The lawsuit settlement benefits individuals who were notified by Alacrity Solutions Group that their personal identifiers were potentially compromised in a cyberattack learned of on March 3, 2021.
The settlement also benefits a subclass of the same consumers from California.
The Alacrity Solutions Group data breach occurred in March 2021 and affected financial account information and other payment data. According to the data breach class action lawsuit, the company failed to protect consumers from the 2021 data breach.
Alacrity Solutions Group is a property insurance company that provides services through the claims and repairs processes.
The company hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the class action lawsuit settlement, class members can receive up to $4,000 for data breach-related expenses such as bank fees, communication charges, travel expenses, credit costs, fraudulent charges, professional fees and up to three hours of lost time at a rate of $20 per hour.
California subclass members can receive an additional $100 payment from the settlement.Â
All class members are eligible for two years of identity theft protection and credit monitoring services.Â
The deadline for exclusion and objection is May 23, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the Alacrity settlement is scheduled for June 23, 2023.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by June 22, 2023.

Individuals who were notified by Alacrity Solutions Group that their personal identifiers were potentially compromised in a cyber attack learned of on March 3, 2021.
