Cardinal Financial agreed to pay $7.2 million to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming it violated Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by contacting consumers without their express consent.Â
The settlement benefits individuals who were contacted by Cardinal Financial between Nov. 23, 2017, and Nov. 9, 2022, at telephone numbers supplied by iLeads. According to the settlement website, there are 141,049 class members included under this definition.Â
Cardinal Financial allegedly placed telemarketing calls to consumers without first getting their express written consent. According to the telemarketing class action lawsuit, these calls violated the federal TCPA and the Florida Telephone Solicitations Act (FTSA).
Cardinal Financial is a mortgage lender that primarily operates online.
Cardinal Financial hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $7.2 million settlement to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund.Â
Exact payments will vary depending on the number of participating class members, but each claimant could receive up to $51.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is May 26, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 26, 2023.
In order to receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by May 26, 2023.

Hello, I received a check in the mail a month ago regarding the class action lawsuit. My last name isn’t spelled correctly can another check be cut and sent to me as the bank wont cash it.
I received a settlement check from Cardinal Financial TCPA Settlement c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, for $32.00. HOWEVER I CAN NOT DEPOSIT IT OR CASH IT. MULTIPLE BANKS, CASH APP, PAY PAL AND WALMART SAY THAT THE ACCOUNT NUMBER IS NOT BEING RECOGNIZED. AFTER SO MANY YEARS FOR A MEASLY $32, I CAN’T EVEN GET!
