iSolved agreed to a nearly $2.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it collected and stored employee fingerprints without getting consent or providing the required disclosures as required under Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

The settlement benefits individuals who scanned their finger in Illinois through an iSolved time clock and whose biometrics were shared with or stored by iSolved between Nov. 7, 2014, and Nov. 11, 2022.

Plaintiffs in the biometric class action lawsuit accused iSolved of failing to obtain consent before collecting and storing biometrics such as fingerprints. The class action lawsuit claimed iSolved violated BIPA by failing to get consent or provide various disclosures.

iSolved is a human capital management (HCM) solutions company that provides timekeeping and other services.

iSolved hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.48 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve these claims.

Under the terms of the iSolved settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund.

According to the settlement website, each class member is estimated to receive between $640 and $965. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of participating class members and other factors.

iSolved agreed to implement various policy changes to ensure any fingerprint timekeeping systems comply with BIPA regulations. These changes include an informed written consent requirement and a written retention policy.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 11, 2023.

The final approval hearing for the iSolved BIPA settlement is scheduled for May 11, 2023.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 11, 2023.

Hello everyone I was not aware of finger prints settlement but I work at Olympic oil company in Cicero Illinois where we punch in and out by our fingers even for lunch break but I never received notice from you all so unfair but okay

  2. Candace Potter says:

I worked at a McDonald’s for a year in Chicago IL. I had to use the finger print to clock in and out for any and all comings and goings during my shift. From May 2019- June 2020. I received a letter for a class action lawsuit and I responded in a timely manner. But I never received any payments? I also worked at a Mariano’s in Chicago IL that I had to use the same type of system to clock in and out for this company too. If anyone can help me with any other information that I might need to continue with the claim, please contact me. Thank You, Candace Potter.
