UofM Coach Jerry Kill Puts Dilantin Side Effects in Spotlight

By John Curran

Dilantin side effect lawsuitDilantin side effects are just one common issue that people who suffer from epilepsy face as they try to control the condition. In the case of University of Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill, he may become a public face for the condition whether he likes it or not.

According to ESPN, Kill has had several seizures this year, including one that left him off the sidelines for the second half of a key game against a divisional opponent. His epilepsy treatment has had to change, and it could be that the Gophers coach is moving beyond pills with Dilantin neurological side effects, though he has not gone public with that.

As with Stevens Johnson Syndrome, also a Dilantin side effect, there are few public faces to put on the disease that would help bring more awareness. While Obama adviser David Axelrod made the news when he raised money for epilepsy research, it usually fades from consciousness after its November awareness month.

That is problematic because, as could happen with Jerry Kill, it can be difficult to hold on to a job due to frequent seizures. Moreover, there are few options to limit them outside of antiepileptics, which also include Lamictal (lamotrigine). They all carry black box warnings for Dilantin Stevens Johnson Syndrome side effects. The dangerous condition can lead to serious inflammation and even large swaths of dead skin.

Perhaps college football fans who are more aware of the condition will donate to causes that will help improve epilepsy research. However, for now, patients must still face Dilantin neurological side effects as it is the most commonly used treatment for the disease. Unfortunately, even if it is considered a safe option, numerous people have filed a claim with the help of a Dilantin lawsuit attorney over the drug’s adverse effects.

If any of these conditions fit the description of Dilantin side effects that you have, or someone you know has faced, find out what legal options are available. Start at the Stevens Johnson (SJS) & Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) Class Action Lawsuit Investigation. Connecting with a Dilantin lawsuit attorney is as simple as filling out the short form there. It may be possible to obtain a jury award or settlement from the pharmaceutical firm that made Dilantin.

Many of these conditions are long-lasting and require potentially expensive treatments over time. Finding out what eligibility requirements there are is a quick click away, so start now.
