Radius Financial Group agreed to a $375,000 class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it failed to prevent a 2021 data breach.
The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was compromised by the Radius Financial Group data breach in July 2021.
According to the data breach class action lawsuit, Radius Financial Group could have prevented a July 2021 data breach with reasonable cybersecurity measures. Because of Radius’ failure, hackers allegedly gained access to sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers.
Radius Financial Group is a national mortgage lender that offers various financing services.
Radius Financial Group hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $375,000 to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can submit a claim to receive up to $325 for ordinary losses resulting from the data breach, such as bank fees, communication charges, credit expenses and up to four hours of lost time compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.Â
Class members can also receive up to $2,500 if they lost funds as a result of the settlement.Â
The deadline for objection is Nov. 7, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2024.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 7, 2023.

Proof of Purchase
On claims for ordinary out-of-pocket expenses, supporting documentation could include invoices, billing statements, receipts.
On claims for stolen funds, documentation could include a letter from the class member’s financial institution, credit reporting agency or another source informing them of the fraudulent financial loss; receipts, voided checks, bank statements or other documents showing the amount of the class member’s losses and/or a detailed description of what happened and what losses the class member incurred.
