Novartis has agreed to a $30 million antitrust class action settlement to end claims it engaged in a price-fixing scheme with company Par for the blood pressure medication commonly known as Exforge.
The settlement benefits anyone who purchased or paid for brand and generic Exforge from Sept. 21, 2012, through June 30, 2018, in the District of Columbia, Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia or Wisconsin.
The lawsuit alleged Novartis, the manufacturer of Exforge, and Par, a generic pharmaceutical company, entered into an agreement where Novartis agreed not to sell an authorized generic version of Exforge until six months after Par began selling its generic version of Exforge.
In exchange, Par agreed to delay the launch of its generic Exforge product for approximately two years. The lawsuit alleges the companies violated certain state antitrust, consumer protection, and unjust enrichment laws, harming competition and causing people to overpay for brand and generic Exforge.
Novartis is a Swiss multinational pharmaceutical corporation based in Switzerland. It is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and was the fourth largest by revenue in 2022. Par has declared bankruptcy and is not contributing to the settlement fund.
To be eligible to receive a payment if the Exforge antitrust settlement is approved, class members must complete and submit a valid claim form with evidence from their pharmacy or doctor to request their pro rata share of the net settlement fund.
Class members will not be responsible for calculating the amount they are entitled to receive.
Class members who wish to exclude themselves from or object to the Exforge antitrust class action settlement must do so no later than Aug. 18, 2023.
The court has scheduled a fairness hearing for Oct. 3, 2023.
The deadline to submit a claim form is Aug. 18, 2023.

I have one coming in the mail today. Sacramento California
Received check in the mail today–close to $7,000
I applied for this and still haven’t gotten anything. Are these checks being mailed coming out in batches?
Super sad. I didn’t get one either. From my experience if you don’t receive during the week that people report, chances are very slim you’ll ever get one.
that is so weird… ive seen some people getting about 60% of what they claimed, and other getting 33%…
why is there a difference?
Consumer vs third party payee
For those who got checks, tell us how much is the PERCENTAGE they paid you.
For example, if you claimed $1,000 on the claim form how much did they refund you? Im trying to figure out the percentage of the refund.
About 65% less then you claim amount
A friend claimed $3000 and he just received $990 in Georgia. Another friend claimed $4000 and she received $1300 in California today.
Received settlement check on 12/13/2023
