McGee Electric agreed to pay $950,000 to resolve claims that it violated California labor laws by failing to pay its workers the proper minimum wage and overtime wages.

The settlement benefits non-exempt employees (including hourly and piece-rate workers) who worked for McGee Electric between May 21, 2017, and July 22, 2023.

Plaintiffs in the wage and hour class action lawsuit claim that McGee Electric failed to pay overtime and minimum wages, failed to provide proper meal and rest breaks and committed other wage violations. These actions allegedly violated California labor laws.

T McGee Electric is an electrician company that operates in California.

McGee Electric hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $950,000 settlement to resolve the wage and hour class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a proportional share of the net settlement fund based on the number of workweeks they worked during the class period. Class members who worked every workweek during the class period will receive a larger settlement share than those who worked only a handful of weeks. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 13, 2023.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Dec. 20, 2023.

No claim form is required to benefit from the settlement. However, class members can challenge their allocated workweeks by filing a dispute by Nov. 13, 2023. Class members who do not dispute their assigned work weeks will automatically receive a payment based on this information.
