Global Trade Hub agreed to a $142,200 lawsuit settlement to resolve claims by the Illinois attorney general that it failed to pay its workers overtime wages.

The settlement benefits Illinois employees of Global Trade Hub, Eve and Utucu who worked for the companies between Oct. 11, 2020, and Aug. 1, 2022.

The Illinois attorney general claims that Global Trade Hub and other related employers violated the state’s minimum wage law by failing to compensate workers for overtime at one and a half times the rate of their normal rate of pay. The complaint also alleged sexual harassment and discrimination.

Global Trade Hub is a trade and investment company that offers opportunities to startups and established businesses.

Global Trade Hub hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $142,200 settlement to resolve the attorney general lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, Global Trade Hub employees can receive a cash payment based on the hours they worked and wages they received during the applicable period. These payments will be distributed in four installments. The first installment will be paid in December 2023, while the remaining three payments will be distributed in June 2024, December 2024 and June 2025.

Claimants can check the consent decree on the settlement website to check their eligibility and find their projected payment amount. Employees can receive their payments as a Zelle, Venmo or PayPal payment, direct deposit, wire transfer or MasterCard prepaid card. Fees may apply for some of these payment options.

Global Trade Hub has agreed to bolster its sexual harassment, employee classification, recordkeeping and discrimination policies as part of the settlement.

There is no exclusion or objection deadline for this settlement.

The settlement was granted final approval through a consent decree filed on May 4, 2023.

In order to receive settlement payments, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 14, 2023.
