BSH Home Appliances agreed to pay $2 million to resolve claims that Bosch home appliances were equipped with defective components that caused panel failure.
The settlement benefits individuals who purchased, acquired as part of a home purchase or remodel or received as a gift certain Bosch microwaves or ovens with model numbers HBL5751UC, HBL8751UC, HBLP751UC, HMC80151UC, HMC80251UC or HMC87151UC.
According to the class action lawsuit, Bosch appliances such as ovens and microwaves were equipped with defective variable-frequency drive (VFD) control panels. A flaw in these panels allegedly causes the control panels to fade, dim, become unreadable or fail altogether.
Bosch is a home appliance brand that sells microwaves, ovens, dishwashers and fridges.
BSH Home Appliances hasnโt admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2 million settlement to resolve the appliance class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive Tier 1(a), Tier 1(b) or Tier 2 benefits. Tier 1(a) benefits include reimbursement of up to $400 for documented out-of-pocket costs related to a past display failure, while Tier 1(b) benefits provide the same $400 reimbursement for future display failures. Tier 2 benefits include a three-year extended service plan benefit under which Bosch will replace failed VFD control panels.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 25, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 13, 2024.
Class members have until Sept. 3, 2024, to submit a claim for Tier 1(a) benefits or Feb. 12, 2025, for Tier 1(b) or Tier 2 benefits.

We had an issue with a Bosch refrigerator control panel which broke within 2 years of having it. Can we be included in this claim? We had to pay $900 to fix it. Thanks!
