Healthcare Services Group agreed to a $3 million class action settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2024 data breach that compromised sensitive employee information.

The Healthcare Services Group settlement benefits individuals who received a notice from Healthcare Services Group informing them that their information may have been compromised in a data breach on Sept. 27, 2024.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Healthcare Services Group failed to protect their information from a 2024 data breach. The Healthcare Services Group data breach reportedly compromised sensitive employee information, such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account details and more.

Healthcare Services Group is a company that provides services to healthcare facilities, such as nursing homes and hospitals.

Healthcare Services Group has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $3 million class action settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Healthcare Services Group settlement, class members can receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented monetary losses related to the Healthcare Services Group data breach. These losses can include out-of-pocket credit monitoring costs, unreimbursed fraud or identity theft losses, bank fees, communication charges and more.

In addition to expense reimbursement, class members can receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. Pro rata payments are available to all claimants, including those without documented data breach-related losses.

The settlement also provides three years of free credit monitoring services. These services include dark web monitoring, identity theft insurance coverage of up to $1 million and fully managed identity recovery services.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 4, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the class action settlement is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 1, 2026.
