Liberty Media Corp. and Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc. agreed to a $3,047,986 class action settlement to resolve claims that they wrongfully revoked admission to the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix without a refund.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix settlement benefits individuals and entities who attended the Nov. 16, 2023, race events using an eligible Thursday-only or three-day ticket purchased directly from Las Vegas Grand Prix or transferred from the original purchaser. Class members must have scanned their ticket for entry before midnight that day.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is a Formula 1 race held in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2023, the race was held from Nov. 16 to Nov. 18.
According to a class action lawsuit against Liberty Media and Las Vegas Grand Prix, the companies wrongfully revoked admission to the race viewing areas without a refund before the FP2 free practice session could begin.
The plaintiffs in the case say that the revocation of their admission was a breach of contract and they sought a partial refund of the ticket price for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Liberty Media and Las Vegas Grand Prix have not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $3,047,986 to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the Grand Prix tickets class action settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Currently, there is no estimate of the cash amount any class member may receive.
However, class members who bought Thursday-only tickets will receive a payment based on the average ticket price and the value of the FP2 session that was disrupted, with a deduction reflecting the litigation risks of the case.
Class members who purchased three-day tickets will receive a similar payment based on the average price of a three-day ticket, the value of the FP2 session that was disrupted, with a deduction reflecting the litigation risks of the case.
You do not need to submit a claim form if you purchased your ticket directly from Las Vegas Grand Prix or on Ticketmaster. If you possessed a ticket that you received from someone else, meaning you did not purchase it directly, then you need to fill in a valid claim form.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 28, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2026.
The deadline to file a claim for the Las Vegas Grand Prix settlement is Aug. 27, 2026.
