Bestway agreed to a $2 million class action settlement to resolve claims that certain Bestway spa pumps are defective and can cause fires.
The Bestway settlement benefits consumers who purchased a Bestway AirJet or Bestway HydroJet Spa Pump with model numbers P05332, P05339, P05711, P05807, P07000, P07001, P05511, P07034 or P07572 between May 2021 and May 2024.
Plaintiffs claim in the class action lawsuit that Bestway spa pumps are defective and can cause fires. Bestway reportedly recalled the spa pumps in August 2024 after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that the products could cause injuries.
Bestway is a global retailer that sells a variety of products, including pools and hot tubs.
Bestway has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay a $2 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Bestway settlement, class members who received benefits from the Bestway recall can receive an additional cash payment of up to $75. Those still in possession of the pumps must first participate in the recall to receive full benefits.
Class members who no longer have their pumps and did not participate in the recall must provide proof of purchase to receive an equal $75 payment.
The class action settlement also provides a one-year warranty extension for class members who received a replacement pump as part of the pump recall. These extended warranties have a value of more than $8 million.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 17, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Bestway class action settlement is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 17, 2026.
