LifeStance Health Group has agreed to a $3.02 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated patients’ privacy rights by using tracking pixels on its website.

The LifeStance Health settlement benefits LifeStance patients who booked at least one session or who booked no sessions through the company’s online booking tool between March 1, 2020, and April 30, 2023.

LifeStance Health Group is a mental health provider that offers therapy and psychiatric medication services to patients. The company has locations across the United States.

According to a class action lawsuit against LifeStance, the company violated patients’ privacy rights by using tracking pixels on its website. These pixels allegedly allowed third parties, such as Google and Facebook, to collect and store sensitive patient information without their consent.

The plaintiffs in the case argue that LifeStance violated the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act with its alleged website tracking.

LifeStance has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $3,027,874.44, in two separate funds, to resolve these allegations.

Under the terms of the LifeStance Health settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on their subclass membership.

Subclass 1 members can receive a payment from a $1.2 million fund, while Subclass 2 members can receive a payment from a $1.8 million fund. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of participating class members and the net settlement fund after deductions for fees and costs.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 31, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the LifeStance Health Group settlement is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 29, 2026.
