Call-On-Doc agreed to a $1.8 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated California privacy laws by using tracking pixels on its website.
The Call-On-Doc settlement benefits individuals who created an account with Call-On-Doc while in California on or after Nov. 7, 2023, or who were registered users with Call-On-Doc and started to book appointments for medical care in California on or after Nov. 7, 2021.
Call-On-Doc is a telehealth service that allows users to connect with medical providers online for common, non-emergency conditions.
According to a class action lawsuit, Call-On-Doc violated California’s Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) by using tracking pixels on its website. These tracking pixels allegedly allowed third parties to access and collect information about users without their consent.
The plaintiffs in the case argue that Call-On-Doc’s actions violated CIPA, which requires businesses to get the consent of individuals before recording or sharing their communications.
Call-On-Doc has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $1.8 million to resolve the class action allegations.
Under the terms of the Call-On-Doc settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Each class member is eligible to receive up to $20 from the settlement.
Exact payment amounts may vary depending on the number of participating class members. If a large number of class members file claims, payments may be reduced to a pro rata share of the net settlement fund.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 10, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Call-On-Doc settlement is scheduled for Aug. 31, 2026.
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 29, 2026.
Meanwhile, attorneys are investigating whether health, recovery and medical websites unlawfully shared users’ private information through tracking technology. If you visited one of the affected websites within the past two years, you may qualify to join a class action investigation.
