Wal-Mart has settled yet another class action lawsuit over violations of wage and hour laws, this time in Oregon. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit for $4 million, $2.3 million of which will be distributed among 28,000 former Oregon employees. If approved, this class action settlement will resolve a five-year-old lawsuit that alleges the retail giant failed to pay employees in a timely fashion — or at all — wages, overtime or earned vacation when they left Wal-Mart. Class members include former hourly or salaried employees who worked at Wal-Mart stores or distribution centers in Oregon, and whose employment ended between December 9, 2001 and March 26, 2010. Claimants are expected to receive payouts ranging from $50 to $241 from the proposed class action settlement. [OregonLive]
