Vivint class action lawsuitA class action lawsuit investigation has been launched against Vivint Inc. over allegations the company failed to pay employees for mandatory training in violation of federal and state laws.

Vivint, formerly APX Alarm Security Systems, is a home security company. It specializes in providing security systems throughout North America. The company has faced lawsuits over alleged telemarketing law violations as well as pricing practices. The latest round of legal action alleges that the company violated wage and hour laws by forcing employees to participate in unpaid training.

These regulations are established in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which addresses many aspects of paying employees in the United States, including establishing the minimum wage, establishing overtime rules, and creating record keeping regulations to ensure fair pay for employees. If need be, the FLSA may be enforced through wage and hour lawsuits by employees.

There has been a recent surge in wage and hour lawsuits in recent years, due to two factors. First, the downturn in the U.S. and global economies made companies eager to cut costs, and some have strayed into the territory of wage and hour violations. Additionally, several recent wage and hour lawsuits have helped clarify certain aspects the law and created legal precedent. These FLSA lawsuits have clarified certain murky areas of wage and hour laws, creating clear legal expectations for employers.

The proposed wage and hour class action lawsuit against Vivint has alleged that the company requires employees to participate in unpaid training.

The proposed wage and hour lawsuit could take the form of a class action lawsuit.
