Toyota is recalling nearly 127,000 vehicles, including certain models of the Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX and GX, due to a potential engine stall risk.
The affected vehicles, equipped with a V35A engine, may have debris from manufacturing that could contaminate the engine, leading to main bearing failure and a subsequent loss of drive power.
The recall, announced Nov. 6, applies to 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles. According to the Toyota recall, the presence of “machining debris” in the engine could cause it to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
“Machining debris may not have been removed from the cars’ engines during manufacturing,” the recall notice says.
This defect significantly raises the risk of accidents, as a sudden loss of power can be dangerous on the road. “A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash,” the recall states.
