Tesla issued a recall for more than 46,000 of its Cybertruck vehicles over concerns an exterior trim panel known as the cant rail could delaminate and detach from the vehicle, posing a road hazard.

The recall includes all Model Year (“MY”) 2024 and 2025 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023, to February 27, 2025.

This Cybertruck recall is the eighth to be initiated by Tesla for the vehicle since the automaker began delivery to customers in November 2023.

Tesla said it is concerned that a “detached panel can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash,” the Cybertruck recall says.

Tesla to replace cant rail on recalled Cybertruck vehicles, free of charge

The automaker said it plans to remedy the recall issue by having Tesla services replace the cant rail on the recalled Cybertruck vehicles free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 19, 2025, according to the Tesla recall.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Tesla customer service by phone at 1-877-798-3752.

Consumers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.

Tesla previously announced the sixth recall for 2,400 Cybertruck vehicles in November 2024, concerning the vehicles’ drive inverter that could cause a loss of drive power.
