  • UPDATE: A class action settlement has been reached over issues related to this recall. You have until March 20, 2025, to file a claim to receive receive repair reimbursements, rental vehicle reimbursements, and other benefits.
  • Who: Chrysler issued a recall for more than 317,000 model year 2017-2018 Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 3500 <10k Lb. Cab Chassis, Ram 2500 Pickup and Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis pickup trucks.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the pickup trucks’ hydraulic control unit could fail, leading to a loss of anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control. 
  • Where: The recall affects certain Ram vehicle owners nationwide. 

Chrysler is recalling more than 300,000 Ram pickup trucks over concerns their hydraulic control unit could fail, leading to a loss of anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control. 

The recall involves 317,630 model year 2017-2018 Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 3500 <10k Lb. Cab Chassis, Ram 2500 Pickup and Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis pickup trucks. 

“A loss of anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, or traction control can increase the risk of a crash,” the recall says. 

Chrysler to replace brake hydraulic control unit in recalled Ram vehicles, free of charge

Chrysler said it plans to fix the issue by having its dealers replace the brake hydraulic control unit in the recalled Ram pickup trucks, at no cost to vehicle owners. 

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 9, 2025, the Ram recall says.

Chrysler issued a separate recall for nearly 34,000 model year 2025 Ram 1500 pickup trucks earlier this year over concerns they may have been built with damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings.

    2017 Ram 2500 diesel.
    I took it in immediately to be repaired. I was then and still being told , by many dealers that there are 0 replacement parts to fix it. None of them have an idea of possibly when they may come in. I do not feel comfortable driving much further then 50 miles, in this situation. Just so I can have a safe pick-up again. I am really missing my 2011 Ram now. So yes please add me.
