WEN cleansing conditioner

A Pennsylvania woman is seeking legal action after her use of a WEN Hair Care product allegedly led to severe hair loss.

According to plaintiff Jeanine P., the WEN cleansing conditioners began causing breakage and hair loss a few months into using the products.

Jeanine says that after discovering the hair loss problem that her self-confidence has significantly dropped.

“I thought maybe something medically was wrong because everything I was doing wasn’t working,” she said.

Her doctors have not been able to find a medical cause for her hair loss problems, she says.

A WEN spokesperson has said in response to allegations of their product causing hair loss: “There is no scientific evidence to support any claim that our hair care products caused anyone to lose their hair.”

However, hundreds of other women have also reported experiencing hair loss – some severe – after using WEN products. Jeanine’s next step is filing a lawsuit against WEN for its allegedly defective product.

Jeanine and women like her are suing both the company and its marketing firm for negligence and false advertising.

The parties involved in the lawsuit are exploring possibilities of reaching a settlement.

WEN Hair Care Lawsuits

The women involved in the lawsuit against WEN Hair Care and Guthy-Renker, the marketing company, claim that the cleansing conditioner not only caused hair loss and baldness, but also scalp damage such as rashes and irritation. Others allege that the product caused hair breakage and discoloration.

WEN Hair Care and Guthy-Renker claim that their products are used to drastically improve not only the appearance of a customer’s hair, but also its health, after using it just once.

WEN Hair Care infomercials have made several claims about the safety and effectiveness of their products. For instance, the product has been described as “gentle enough to use every day.” The company stated: “You can never use too much! The more you use, the better the results.”

Not only do hair loss lawsuits claim that the product is harmful, but also that the manufacturer knew about these hundreds of complaints and refused to take any action.

Despite these allegations, WEN has continued to be very successful. In its second year, the company reportedly brought in $100 million. Despite the many complaints, the product has many positive reviews on Amazon, giving it an overall high rating.

According to current federal regulations, companies like Guthy-Renker are not required to reveal customer complaints or studies about personal care products. This leaves both consumers and the FDA out of the loop as to what exactly personal care products contain – and the dangers they may pose to the public.

Many consumers are saying that FDA regulations regarding hair care products may be in need of an update to prevent this kind of damage in the future.

If you or someone you know has experienced hair loss or any other damage to your hair or scalp after using a WEN hair care product, you may be able to gain some kind of compensation by filing an individual WEN hair loss lawsuit or joining a WEN class action lawsuit.
