Basics of Essure Birth Control

In the years since its initial approval, around 750,000 women have so far chosen Essure as their form of permanent birth control. However, more than 4,500 adverse event reports have been filed with the FDA over major complications associated with use of the device.

Thousands of women have reported problems with Essure implants including organ perforation, excessive bleeding, rashes, miscarriage, and ectopic pregnancy, among a variety of others.
