Olympic Rescue It Resurfacer claims to bring life back to old and worn out surfaces made of wood and concrete – the product’s slogan is ‘Don’t replace it. Rescue it!’ – but a rising number of consumers claim that the product causes more harm than good.
The product, Olympic Rescue It! Resfurfacer, is a resurfacing product somewhere between a paint and a stain. Many disappointed customers have complained about the product’s poor quality and failed usages, which has cost customers hundreds of dollars.
Customers are hoping, through their potential Olympic stain lawsuits, to gain some amount of compensation for the product itself, as well as for the time they put into prepping and applying the product as required in the instructions.
The product label claims that it can fix a wide variety of ills, such as filling cracks, eliminating splinters, and offering a textured and foot-friendly finish.
However, despite these glowing claims, many dissatisfied consumers report that Rescue It began bubbling and peeling months, or even weeks, after the first application. These customers have been forced to redo their work, removing the defective product and redoing their decks with another product.
Consumers have taken to the internet to share negative reviews and report the many issues they have encountered with this product. The main issues encountered include:
- Peeling
- Bubbling
- Refinished surface becoming very hot, and unsafe for bare feet
- Not waterproof
- Splinters flaking
- Failure to effectively fill cracks
- Difficulty removing
While the manufacturer, Olympic, does say that it offers a satisfaction guarantee to customers, the guarantee comes with a few caveats.
First, the company says that the surface must have been prepared and the product applied according to Olympic’s instructions. Second, Olympic does not offer even an estimated time for which the product is guaranteed to work. Lastly, the product label warns that the lifetime of the product “may be limited by the condition of the wood or concrete that is being “rescued.”
Consumers disappointed with the Rescue It! product have suggested that this warning gives the company more leeway to deny fault with the product.
Some Olympic Rescue It Resurfacer customers have reported that even when the surfaces they used the product on were in good condition, the product still failed. Many customers lost hundreds of dollars from the purchase and installation of this product, and want their money back.
Olympic has allegedly responded to some customer complaints, offering to either refund the purchase price or provide a different product, but many customers want something more included in their compensation. After the time, labor, and other money invested in using the product beyond the product’s purchase price, many customers feel like further steps are needed.
A growing number of customers are considering taking legal action against Olympic, and may join an Olympic Rescue It Resurfacer class action lawsuit in order to seek compensation for this alleged misrepresentation of a product.
