Nissan has issued a recall for approximately 41,800 Sentra vehicles from the 2025 model year due to a defect in the windshield that could potentially obscure driver visibility.
The issue involves air bubbles forming in the windshield glass, which poses a risk to safe driving conditions. This recall affects many drivers who rely on clear visibility while operating their vehicles.
The Nissan recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Nov.21, affects Sentra models from the 2025 production year.
The presence of air bubbles in the windshield glass violates the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, which pertains to glazing materials.
Recall: Nissan to replace Sentra windshields at no cost
The Nissan Sentra recall highlights the importance of addressing such safety issues promptly, since the defect not only compromises the driver’s ability to see clearly but also fails to meet the safety standards set by federal regulations.
To address the issue, Nissan will inspect and replace the affected windshields at no cost to the vehicle owners.
The company plans to send out notification letters to owners by Jan. 15, 2026. Vehicle owners are encouraged to contact Nissan’s customer service for further assistance at 1-800-867-7669. The company’s recall number for this issue is PMA58.
The recall is identified by the campaign number 25V807000, and affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) have been made available on the NHTSA website as of Nov. 21, 2025.
Nissan says it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Nissan is currently facing unrelated class action allegations it concealed a significant defect in its Nissan Leaf EV, which poses a substantial fire risk during Level 3 fast charging.
