Lowe’s class action lawsuit overview:
- Who: Consumers have filed a pair of class action lawsuits against Lowe’s Home Centers LLC.
- Why: The class action lawsuits argue Lowe’s misled consumers with a false discount advertising scheme.
- Where: The class actions were filed in North Carolina federal court.
A pair of new class action lawsuits accuse home improvement retailer Lowe’s of misleading consumers with a false discount advertising scheme in its stores and on its website.
The class action lawsuits claim Lowe’s engaged in a “massive and consistent” false discount advertising scheme for years by advertising perpetual discounts on certain products when, in reality, the retailer rarely, if ever, offers the products at their advertised reference price.
“Lowe’s’ deceptive pricing scheme is intended to trick consumers into believing that its Products are worth, and have a market value equal to, the inflated reference price,” the Lowe’s class actions say.
Plaintiff Prescila Lovell wants to represent a California class of consumers who purchased from Lowe’s one or more products advertised with a discount, while plaintiffs Lance Wright and wife Shauni Wright want to represent an Oregon class of consumers who purchased from Lowe’s one or more products advertised with a discount.
Lowe’s false discount advertising violates state law, class actions claim
The complaints argue Lowe’s advertised perpetual discounts on products such as Bali- and Levolor-brand blinds and shades and major appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, microwaves, wall ovens, cooktops, freezers, washers and dryers.
Consumers, meanwhile, ultimately end up paying more for these products because of the alleged false discount advertising, the Lowe’s class actions allege.
“Lowe’s’ false discount advertising harms consumers like Plaintiff by causing them to pay more than they otherwise would have paid and to buy products that they otherwise would not have bought,” the Lowe’s class action lawsuits say.
Lovell argues Lowe’s violated California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act, False Advertising Law and Unfair Competition Law, while the Wright’s claim Lowe’s violated the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act.
The plaintiffs in each case demand a jury trial and request declaratory and injunctive relief for themselves and all class members. The Wrights additionally request an award of punitive and actual or statutory damages for themselves and all class members.
A consumer filed a similar class action lawsuit against Lowe’s late last year over claims the company misled consumers by advertising certain products at a perpetual discount.

Jason White of Sigmon, Clark, Mackie, Hanvey & Ferrell, P.A.; and Daniel Hattis and Paul Karl Lukacs of Hattis & Lukacs. The Lowe’s class action lawsuits are Lovell, et al. v. I purchased a Craftsman chainsaw from Lowe’s, located on Smoky Park Hwy in Asheville, NC (zip: 28806). I also purchased an extended warranty for this item. The first time I tried to use the chainsaw it would not start. I repackaged it in its original box and took it to Lowe’s customer service. There I was told that they would not honor the warranty (I just bought the item) but would have to take it to a Craftsman dealership. Lowe’s would not honor the extended warranty either. I was told to contact Craftsman to inquire where the nearest dealership was located near me. So, I did. I was told the nearest dealership was located in Hendersonville, NC. I took the chainsaw to them. Needless to say, they did not even look at the chainsaw for a full month. I kept calling about the progress of the repair. When I took the chainsaw to the dealership in Hendersonville, I was told that if the problem were the carburetor that I would have to pay them out-of-pocket because the warranty did not cover this part. I only had the chainsaw for a month before I even pulled it out of the box and tried to use it. The company I took the chainsaw to for repairs kept putting me off when I called to inquire of the repair status. Eventually, I appeared in person to pick up the chainsaw in hopes of finding someone else who would repair it. The people who had my chainsaw quickly looked at it and said a hose needed to be reconnected. The chainsaw doesn’t work properly to this day. Lowe’s refused to honor the warranty that automatically came with the chainsaw, nor would they consider honoring the extended warranty. Please add me to your class action lawsuit.
I worked at Lowe’s several years ago. While lifting boxes of sales tabs I hurt my back and kept trying to work. Needless to say I ended up having to take a leave. But before that I was wrote up several times for being out of work. I had asked for something easier because I wanted to work. One manager just keep being mean to me even though I had doctor’s notes. I finally quit and settled with them but I went through a couple years of pure hell! I believe that was the worst experience of my life! Screw Lowe’s!!!

I ordered a storage shed that was on sale Lancaster 16-ft x 12-ft Gable Style Wood Outdoor Storage Shed with 3 Windows 1 DoorsItem #6243180 Model #19024-7$3,959.10 . Saving with the sale price $439.90. I bought it. Then a couple of days after the sale, I checked the website and it’s regular price is $3538.82. When I purchased it on 5/6/25, it wont allow my military discount to be included as it’s on sale. I contacted lowes, they adjusted the price from 3959.10 to 3538.32 ( the regular price). Now that it’s a regular price, my military discount should apply but they wont do it. This is deceptive marketing practice.

I’m experiencing a real problem with trying to purchase an Ego Ride On 42-in Electric Lawn Mower Lowes had advertised for $1,999 with no cut off date while a different copy of the same ad states the sale ends on May 1st. Meanwhile sometimes I’m told in an email sent to me after speaking to their customer service “it’s on order” and “good things come to those who wait” then it goes on to tell me I may want to look at other Zero Turn Ride on Mowers from different manufactures it’s like a classic “bait and switch” meanwhile they won’t allow me to order the Ego mower they’re advertising that I want. Meanwhile in the process of my trying to order my wife found an entire Reddit community experiencing the same thing on the same item and the same sale
My son, daughter and I have all purchased multiple appliances (washers, dryers, ranges, fridge, etc. ) from Lowes. As well as electric yard equipment and cleaning supplies.
Lowes has breached a $28000 cabinet purchase and install contract in addition to an $8000 countertop contract. And have over charged my accounts $8000 without authorization for product replacement mistakes and design errors. The contract was initiated 2/20/23 and is still not complete. …. Looking for restitution to cover costs and distress for unreasonable business practices.
