Las Vegas shooting survivors have filed a Route 91 Festival shooting lawsuit both against Live Nation, the American live-events company, and MGM Resorts.
Las Vegas shooting survivors from the Oct. 1, 2017 deadly event accuse the defendants of negligence, among other charges over the horrific events they suffered that fateful day.
The mass shooting left 546 people injured and 58 dead. Many Las Vegas shooting survivors are now being left with emotional injuries such as PTSD that may never go away. Now, Las Vegas shooting victims and their families are looking for closure, in addition to financial help for days missed of work, counseling for PTSD, and for help with medical bills.
If you or a loved one were inside the concert gates during that fateful mass shooting event, you deserve compensation for your injuries, big or small, and an attorney that can help you.
Thousands of Las Vegas shooting survivors have applied for state-run programs that can help support victims of this mass shooting. Through the non-profit Las Vegas Victims Fund, there have been almost $22 million raised in the days and weeks following the aftermath of the shooting. However, Las Vegas shooting victims are saying that they are being turned away and being told that they are “not injured enough” to receive any compensation or help.
If you are an individual that was inside the concert gates and suffered physical injuries or emotional harm such as the development of PTSD, you may be eligible to receive compensation.
Las Vegas Shooting Survivors Overview
The horrific mass shooting occurred when a gunman opened fire at a crowd of concertgoers and fired more than 1,000 rounds at more than 22,000 people. He fired the shots for an astounding 10 minutes before he killed himself as police moved in the hotel room. The gunman was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
There have been hundreds of lawsuits filed against MGM Resorts and LiveNation. Las Vegas shooting survivors are also suing the shooter’s estate over claims of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Plaintiffs also accuse MGM Resorts of some of the following: failing to properly train staff; of having inadequate security policies; of improperly surveying the premises; the slow response in responding to shots fired at Jesus Campos, the security guard; and negligently allowing the shooter to have access to service elevators of the hotel at the Mandalay Bay that allowed him to stockpile and store weapons in his hotel room in the days leading up to the Route 91 Festival shooting.
Plaintiffs accuse Live Nation of not providing enough exit doors; of having insufficient and improper employee training that would prepare them for emergencies and unforeseeable terrorist attacks, and for failing to use media equipment such as media boards, loudspeakers, and video monitors at the Route 91 Festival shooting that could have prevented more injuries from occurring.
Las Vegas shooting survivors who were present inside the gates of the festival during the massacre may file a civil lawsuit for damages such as the loss of earnings due to missed work; expenses for funeral costs, personal injury, wrongful death, past and future medical expenses, and counseling for emotional trauma such as for PTSD.
