LA Financial Credit Union ATM Fee Class Action Settlement
By Kimberly Mirando

LA Financial Federal Credit Union has reached a class action lawsuit settlement for posting the amount of their ATM fees as $1.50, but actually charging customers $2.00. As a result, anyone who was charged a transaction fee for using an LA Financial ATM between 2007 and 2009 at certain locations in Arizona and California can receive up to $10 from the class action settlement.
The LA Financial Credit Union settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Minkler v. LA Financial Federal Credit Union, that alleges breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, conversion and violations of business against LA Financial based on the allegation that the credit union failed to provide adequate notice of ATM fees being charged in the amount of $2.00.
Class Members of the LA Financial ATM fee class action settlement include all persons who, from May 5, 2007 through May 28, 2009, were charged a $2.00 transaction fee instead of $1.50 for making a withdrawal from a personal (not business) account through use of any of the LA Financial ATMs located at the following addresses:
55 S. Lake Havasu Ave., Suite J., Lake Havasu, Arizona
224 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena, California
716 West First St., Los Angeles, California
LA County Mall, 111 N. Hill St., Los Angeles, California
12251 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, California
1520 West Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, California
Under the LA Financial Credit Union ATM fee class action settlement, Class Members can file a claim to receive a pro rata share of the settlement, which will not exceed $10 per Class Member.
To participate in the LA Financial class action settlement, you must submit a claim form online or postmarked no later than August 29, 2011.
