Individuals who were harmed during the September 11th attack through exposure to thousands of cancer-causing toxins may be eligible to submit VCF cancer claims.

The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) is compensating individuals who were physically harmed during the September 11th attack.

Eligible individuals include anyone who lived and worked near “Ground Zero” during the attacks between Sept. 11, 2001 and May 31, 2002 and were diagnosed with cancer. Eligible individuals also include personal representatives of a deceased individual.

Compensation provided through VCF cancer claims are payable through the $7.3 billion fund. The fund offers compensation for more than 70 different kinds of cancer, and compensation can potentially range from hundreds, thousands or millions of dollars due to a cancer diagnosis or death.

Several eligible 9/11 cancer victims may qualify for compensation. Eligible 9/11 cancer victims include, but are not limited to:

• Firefighters, police officers and EMTs
• First responders
• Sanitation workers
• Construction workers
• City workers
• Cleaners
• 9/11 volunteers
• Out-of-state responders
• Utility workers
• Residents living below Canal Street
• Students going to school below Canal Street
• Employees who worked at any business below Canal Street

Filing VCF Cancer Claims Through Cancer Eligibility

Cancer types that qualify for compensation for VCF cancer claims eligibility include the following: prostate cancer; breast cancer; lung cancer; ovarian cancer; bladder cancer; non-melanoma skin cancer; melanoma; thyroid cancer; non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma; multiple myeloma; leukemia; mesothelioma; head, neck, nasal, or mouth cancer; kidney cancer; colon cancer; stomach cancer; bone cancer; brain cancer; sarcoma; esophagus cancer; and dozens more.

After a series of four coordinated attacks, led by al-Qaeda, an Islamic terrorist group, the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 forever changed America. During the plane attacks crashing into the World Trade Center, 2,753 people were killed.

There have also been 1 million people exposed to deadly carcinogens and toxins, including asbestos, aluminum, and burned jet fuel, following an 8-month cleanup period. Almost 17 years later, people are continuing to die and suffer from toxin exposure being released at Ground Zero.

After the September 11th attack, the federal government set up the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Although closed in 2004, President Obama allowed the fund to stay open until 2020 by signing a 2015 bill.

The VCF fund provides September 11th victims compensation for pain and suffering, funeral expenses, past medical expenses, lost earnings, a large cash death benefit, and compensation for living/surviving children and spouses. A number of individuals have been compensated and millions of dollars have been paid out through the VCF fund.

Because of the exposure of carcinogens and the development of health problems, cancer and other adverse side effects, the VCF fund helps aide World Trade Center cancer victims who have suffered injuries and physical harm.

Awards through the VCF fund also provide compensation for wrongful death because of 9/11 cancer and other related diseases developed as a result of the 9/11 attack.
