The GMRS settlement resolves allegations from three separate class action lawsuits claiming the company made unsolicited cell phone calls to consumers in violation of federal law.

The TCPA protects consumers from solicitors who send robocalls, unwanted text messages and even fax advertisements without prior express written permission.

GMRS denied the allegations but agreed to pay $10 million to settle the claims.

In addition to providing a $15 cash payout, GMRS also agreed to remove cell phone numbers of affected Class Members so they no longer receive unwanted phone calls made on behalf of the company.

Class Members included all individuals within the U.S. who received a call from GMRS on their cell phone between Aug. 11, 2010 and Dec. 31, 2014.

The deadline to file a claim for the Global Market Research class action settlement passed on Sept. 30, 2016.
